Find Somebody to Love

David Campbell II
DAVID CAMPBELL II brings the same mixture of high energy and familiarity to his acoustic shows as you'd expect to find with a professional DJ.  Since his showcase at the National APCA, David has been known to cause impromptu dance parties at college coffeehouses around the country with his large catalog of current, Top 40 hits as well as original songs. David says, "I really enjoy taking a song that is on the radio and making it my own. I'll take something I hear off the radio and reproduce it on the acoustic guitar even though the song may not have acoustic guitar. It may just be piano or bass or synthesizers." Between his growing list of original songs and each new single that breaks the charts, there's no shortage of hits to keep any crowd happy or any venue packed.

David was great. We had school canceled due to weather and he was really flexible to move his performance up to give the students something to do during the day. He was joined by his friend, I am sorry that I am drawing a blank on her name, but the students loved them both. The kids stayed around. Requested to have them both back. I received texts for students saying I picked a good pair. I told David I've had him several times before, but next time I want both of them. I feel I got lucky to get a great two for one. Thanks again and I will have David again next year. - Jenny Sabourin, Director of Student Activities, Indian Hills Community College – Ottumwa, IA
I just wanted to report that David Campbell's performance at QU went off 300% perfect, everyone had a great time.  Due to an issue with a performer that we were going to have earlier in the night at a faculty/staff night having a family emergency, we ended up having him perform an additional show. When performing for the faculty/staff night, they were wondering if he would be open for a wine and cheese event.  If you could get back to me about that, it would be great! - Denise Drebes, Student Affairs Graduate Assistant, Quincy University - Quincy, IL

I just have to tell you David Campbell yesterday was totally awesome. He was a joy to work with, very talented and very obviously enjoyed what he was doing.  I know we had only contracted for an hour, but he volunteered to play for two!  He was the energizer bunny!   David’s week here went very well.  I heard nothing but rave reviews for each of the other 4 campuses. He was incredibly easy to work with and very obviously enjoyed what he was doing.  You always have great people!  - Kelly Warren, College-wide Coordinator, Student Life and Leadership Development, Florida State Colleges at Jacksonville

I do not think David could have been better received at USCB! The students thoroughly enjoyed his enthusiasm and his performance from the beginning to the very end. We had at least 50 people at the Coffeehouse enjoying the performance and David played a little bit of something for everyone. Songs with audience participation were definitely crowd pleasers. I know many of us would love to host David again in the future. - Kyle Patrick Williams, Office of Student Life, University of South Carolina - Beaufort, Bluffton, SC

David Campbell was fantastic! He was definitely well-received by everyone at the event. Students, vendors and staff only had good things to say! He interacted with the audience, took requests, and had a lot of energy. He played a great variety of songs and mixed things up and appealed to a great variety of students. Thanks so much for your help. - Michelle Burger, Assistant Director Student Activities, Lincoln Land Community College - Springfield, IL

David Campbell is awesome. The students really liked him and we want to consider bringing him back again next spring. He's a great musician and was super easy to work with and made the day very fun for all of us! - Pam Dilday, Director of Student Activities, Joliet Junior College - Joliet, IL

David was excellent. The students throughly enjoyed his performance and particularly appreciated him singing songs that they could relate to and liked. They sang with him during the performance. David is very personable and I felt that I have known him for some time. Thank you for referring David Campbell. - Cassandra Fluker, Director of Student Activities, Henry Ford Community College - Dearborn, MI

David was a big hit (especially with the girls). It seems, at least for the time being, our students like a musician who does more covers than originals…they are asking for David to come back, so it went really well! - Kevin Broeckling, Dean of Student Affairs, Benedictine University at Springfield – Springfield, IL

It was great--he was a great perfomer, put on a great show and was very easy to work with. Hopefully his sound equipment is OK as it rained at the end and he wanted to keep playing! -  Dan Sepion, Residential College Director, Washington University – Saint Louis, MO

David's show on Friday night went great. I think the students had a great time and David was a pleasure to work with. He interacts well with the students and brings great energy for the entire show. Thanks for your help booking him all went well :)- Jennier Schreer, Associate Director for Programs and Events, Albion College – Albion, MI

David did a great job! We really enjoyed having him back for New Student Orientation.
Ken Brill, Associate Dean of Students, Augustana College – Rock Island, IL

The David Campbell concert went great – we had an excellent turnout, with a lot of the students bringing along their prospective students that they were hosting. We had to sort through some set-up issues with lighting and such, but we made it through and it all worked out okay. David did a great job of engaging the audience – a little dance party formed shortly after he got started and pretty much didn’t stop until he was done for the night. We had excellent feedback from the students, with a lot of them saying how much they enjoyed the event. The weather certainly helped, too, as it turned out to be a nice night. Overall, great event and both our office and Admissions were thrilled with how well it went over. Thanks for helping us with the details! - Courtney Yantes, Graduate Student for Student Involvement, William Woods University – Fulton, MO
