  Maggie McClure

MAGGIE McCLURE, a 23 year-old singer, songwriter, and pianist from Norman, OK, performed over 100 shows during the 2009-2010 school year. She has played a wide variety of events from in-house concerts to national festivals. Her unique live performance, her sincere presentation of original songs, and her creative interpretations of cover songs attract audiences of all kinds. Maggie’s sound is related by listeners to artists such as Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles, and Regina Spektor. Maggie released her self-titled album, which was produced by Will Hunt (Ryan Cabrera, Amy Lee, Shane and Shane, Nick Lachey, Bethany Dillon) in 2007. Japanese indie label, Spinning, took interest and released the album nationwide in Japan in February 2009. Many of Maggie’s songs are currently being played on MTV’s “The Hills” and “The City,” as well as CBS’s hit daytime drama “The Young and The Restless.”

Reviews and comments (back to top)

Maggie was GREAT! We had a good turn out from students. Maggie was wonderful to work with and Shane was a very nice addition to her show. I was very impressed with the way they created music together and that she still maintained the "lead" person. Maggie and Shane are both people that both Marist and myself would like to work with again! If anything says great show, it was the fact that students actually bought CDs. Marist students never purchase CDs so, major props to Maggie and Shane for being able to sell as many as they did! It was also a pleasure working with you and I look forward to doing more shows.
Jenn Unterbrink - Asst DSA - Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY

Maggie brought Shane Henry with her and they were amazing. the students loved them! They were very easy to work with and put on a great show. we will certainly be bringing Maggie back next year , as well as a show with Shane, he has great songs.
Wendy Holt, Director of Student Activities, Newman University - Wichita, KS

We had a great time with Maggie and I thought the crowd responded nicely. There was a decent turnout , as she sold 15-20 cds too so that was good!
Caleb McGinn, Graduate Assistant for Student Activities, Kansas State University - Manhattan, KS

This is Khobic Johnson from Central Methodist University. The school really enjoyed having Maggie here yesterday. The crowd was energetic and all I heard were good comments.
Khobic Johnson, Wednesday Waves Chair, Central Methodist University - Fayette, MO

Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful show at the Downtown Campus yesterday. You are very talented. You were great to work with also. I don’t think the Frio Street Commons ever sounded so good.

Keith A. Pilger, Program Coordinator , Office of Student Activities- Downtown , University of Texas, San Antonio, TX

On March 10, The UCPC brought Maggie McClure to perform for Coffee House. She interacted with audience very nicely . Maggie did an excellent job that night. Maggie was sweet which really complimented her voice. Overall, the UCPC would love to hopefully have Maggie McClure perform at UTSA in the future.
Joel Huerta, Program Chair, Office of Student Activities - Main Campus, University of Texas, San Antonio, TX

All I can say is “WOW!” I knew Maggie was going to be good . . . but . . . she was AMAZING! In addition, she brought Shane Henry as a guest and as a pleasant little surprise “bonus singer” who was also AMAZING! They got a great response from our audience and we definitely look forward to having BOTH of them back in the future! Maggie was genuine, warm, and was very excited to play for us. It was definitely a great “pre-Spring Break” treat! Thanks again for everything!
Celeste McNiel, Student Engagement and Activities Specialist , Texas A&M University - Texarkana, TX

She is an immensly talented artist who puts on a great show. Not only is Maggie talented but she is a genuine and caring person. She can capture any audience with her music."

"Widely considered to be a campus favorite, Maggie McClure is a great performer. Her style of music is versatile and can be appreciated at any venue. Maggie McClure is the complete package. Our students were captivated with every song. This talented Oklahoma girl is an easy going artist. She was great to work with and has a way with the crowd."
