  Valerie Custer

**
UPDATE: Valerie nominated for APCA Best Female Solo Artist 2010!

Since showcasing at the APCA National Conference in 2008 VALERIE CUSTER has been touring relentlessly, performing over 100 shows in the 2008-2009 school year. She has just been awarded the APCA Female Performer of the Year award in ’09, voted on by the students she has performed for. Valerie has sharpened her deep, enchanting sound and developed a veteran stage presence while maintaining her 22-year-old charm. Her girl-next-door personality highlights her music’s ambient, reflective appeal. Poignant, passionate lyrics wrapped in melodic guitar chords offer something more refreshing than your average acoustic show. Valerie sprinkles her sets with just enough cover songs and dry humor stories to make it a show everyone will remember and talk about for a very long time. Among other testimonials to her talent, Valerie was chosen to be featured as the cover model for the Washburn Oscar Schmidt International Dealer Catalog..

Valerie was amazing. She gets into what she is doing, so we didn't mind when she went over the time a little. She was welcomed by one of local fraternities. It's been 3 weeks since she was here and people are still talking about her. She is very down to earth, it was like talking to another student. This girl has talent and should be booked everywhere. It was a fantastic performance.
John Shepherd, E2K Coffeehouse Chair, Saint Norbert College - De Pere, WI

Valerie was fantastic. Her sound is so sultry and mezmorizing! She’s a tiny girl with the soft-yet-powerful voice of a WOMAN! She was so sweet and easy to work with. She interacted well with the crowd, and seemed like she really enjoyed herself. She’s the perfect coffeehouse performer!
John Gordon, Director of Student Activities, Faulkner University, Montgomery, AL

Valerie was great, and it was nice to get her in front of a larger audience than she had last time. A lot of people came up to compliment her and let me know that they thought she was great. One of the best voices in college touring music. Brad Kovalcik, Student Council President, Penn State University - Behrend, Erie, PA

Valerie was excellent it was great having her on campus. She was very laid back easy to work with and I'll admit I was kind of disappointed when we had to tear down. She has such a great voice and a great personality. I want to Thank you also for being so easy to work with. The officer transition this year were a little off and as such the contract situation for the beginning of the semester was tough. However, your willingness to work with us to get everything done made life so much easier. So again, Thank You. I am currently working on the contracts for Cahill and Scratch Track I'll email them out tomorrow night.
Mike Kline, Latenight Chair, Penn State University Behrend, Erie, PA

Awesome! Everyone loved her!
- Chris Maurer , DSA, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College , GA

The show went over very well. We hade 60-75 people in attendance at our busiest time. Several people came and stayed for the entire event (which is something that hadn't happened this semester with our Coffee House series). Valerie was a pleasure to work with. She took requests and chatted with the audience. It was a very low-key evening and everyone was happy with it. Thanks for setting that up for us.
Shane Hill, Asst. Director of Student Activities - College of Wooster, Wooster, OH

Valerie was a great performer. We had about 15-20 students in attendance which was not not her fault. She was very professional and the crowd likeher.
Ann Malloy, Student Activities Assistant, De Pauw University - Greencastle,IN

She is the nicest person to work with and what a voice - best attendance we’ve had so far for our concerts – about 450! They all stayed and had lunch, listened to and responded with applause to Valerie, etc – great success for us. Thanks again – hope to have Valerie again next year.
Cynthia Hollis, Managing Director - University of Akron, Akron, OH
